Information:

The health and well being of all students and staff is a priority for the Cedar Vale School District. To help ensure a healthy school year for all, we have reviewed standard health procedures and preventative measures related to several contagious illnesses. These include the common cold, flu, head lice and etc.
Please discuss with your child good health habits.  To help decrease the spread of viruses we are encouraging our students to wash their hands often with soap and water.  We also utilize hand sanitizers prior to computer usage, lunch and other appropriate times.  Parents will be contacted if their child becomes ill at school so the child can be taken home. It is helpful to have backup arrangements made with a second party in case a parent is unable to come. Your child should not have an elevated temperature or vomiting for 24 hours before returning to school. If your child is ill, please call the school by 8:00 a.m.
Head lice is a common occurrence in school aged children.  The most effective control begins at home.  Please review the parent information and guidelines.  Kansas regulations doesn’t require that a child be nit-free to return to  school.  Any child having been found to have head lice at school will need to be treated prior to returning.
