2nd Graders finished their book unit on The Little House on the Prairie, so we celebrated by watching the movie and having some book/movie related snacks! They even got their very own tin cup. 🥧🍞🧈📖

Parents:
Purple Day is coming up on April 30!
Release forms were sent home with students today. Please note that the forms are double-sided—one side is for the school, and the other is for the Ponca City RecPlex.
If you have multiple children attending, one form can be used for the entire family.
Please return the completed forms to Mrs. Ross as soon as possible.
Thank you!

Creative designs this year!

It's getting to be that time of year, so fifth graders have been learning about severe weather this week. Today we made a tornado in a bottle.

These kids have worked hard since Kindergarten on our elementary phonics curriculum and this week, they have finished!!!

Exciting day in 3rd grade 🐣

📦 Calling All Families! 📦
Mrs. Ross’s 6th Grade ELA class is gearing up for an exciting project, and we need your help! We’re looking for about 10 shoe boxes (or similar-sized boxes) to use as part of a creative assignment coming up soon.
If you have any extra boxes lying around at home, we’d love to take them off your hands! Clean and empty is all we ask 😊
📅 Please send them in by May 1st
📍 Boxes can be dropped off to Room 218
Thank you for your support—it means the world to our students! ❤️

Thank you Cedar Vale Rec and coaches for providing this opportunity for our local soccer stars. Great Job!

4/5th graders completed cereal box book reports this week! It was a fun and creative way to engage with their favorite books and to recommend their favorites to other readers. In this project, each student selected a book they love and transformed an empty cereal box into a colorful and informative representation of that book.

With the help of Caney Valley Electric, the third graders will be testing their contraptions in our annual egg drop competition, this Wednesday, 3 PM. All are invited to come and watch.

Our 8-12 band performed for the KSHSAA State Large Group Music Festival yesterday at Ark City High School. We are proud of our band students, especially the group of seniors who made their final contest performance yesterday. Spring concert is May 13th at Hewins Park!

Here is the order of events and entries for the middle school track & field meet at Central 4/10/25! Good luck Spartans!!! ⚫️🟡 🏃♂️ 🏃♀️ 🥇

We are super proud of our middle school track stars! Some awesome results at Eureka last night. In addition to individual results our 6/7 boys and 6/7 girls placed 1st in overall team points! Catch us in action tomorrow at Central!

2nd graders experimenting if plants can germinate and grow using different types of liquids as well as without sunlight. They chose to "water it" using Gatorade Zero & V8 juice.
