Meet our newest addition to USD 285 : Mrs. Lenington Homeroom 5th Grade WELCOME
My name is Rachel Lenington. I was born and raised in Bristow, Oklahoma, which is where I lived almost all of my life. I grew up on a small farm and until the past few years, never ventured too far from there. I am married to Burke Lenington, of Cedar Vale, which is the reason I now live and work here. I have been a teacher for 28 years and have taught most grades from Prek through 8th grade. My last 13 years were in middle school, which I loved, but I am looking forward to moving down a little to 4th and 5th grades.
Burke and I have 4 children. Two are grown and out of the house, one is headed to college and the youngest is a freshman at Cedar Vale this year.
I love my job and coming to school every day, but I also love my time at home and with my family. In my spare time, I enjoy gardening, reading, going with Burke to take care of the cattle, and spending time in the kitchen. I love when I have the opportunity to get all of our crew together and cook for them. I cherish the times we spend together around the table laughing at each other’s stories.
I am really looking forward to getting involved in both the school and community. I have a love for small towns and small schools. With the exception of my last three years of teaching in Bristow, I have always taught at schools about the same size as Cedar Vale. While Bristow wasn’t considered a big school, it was bigger than what I was accustomed to, and I am very excited about getting back to a much smaller district. It is so nice knowing all of the kids in school and being able to have a more personal relationship with them.

Don't cook dinner!! Come in and watch Volleyball and get something to eat!!

Special thanks to Trudy Swint and family for establishing a memorial fund in the memory of their grandparents Bert and Bess Kelly. Thank you for investing in our students. A memorial fund is a great way to honor a memory of a loved one. Thanks
