2024 Senior Class Spotlight: KINLEE HADEN Kinlee is the daughter of Joel Haden and Kelle Ireland Haden. Her activities are basketball, track, NHS and class officer. Kinlee earned Dual Credit Cowley County Community College in Welding. She was named the 2024 CTE Student of the Year at Cowley County Community College. INTERVIEW: What year did you begin school at CVS? Kinlee: Preschool Do you have any college credits or certifications earned during HS? Kinlee: Welding Certification What are your next steps? Kinlee: I am planning to work a couple of years and plan to jockey horses in the future. Who is someone special that you would like to give a shoutout to? Kinlee: my mom, my dad, my family Mr. Fox, Mr. Werner, Clint and Johnna … What is your favorite school memory? Kinlee: One time Brylee and I were driving around by the pool and Brylee ran over an electric pole used as the parking stop and it felt like we fell off the face of the earth. What are you most excited for next? Kinlee: Growing up, learning a lot and enjoying the little things What are your views on success? Kinlee: Success is being able to be confident in what you say and what you do and taking pride in it, looking back and knowing it was time well spent. Do you have any advice for those entering high school? Kinlee: Stay true to yourself because you are the one that is going to be there at the end of the day … and don’t take crap from anyone. How strict would you say that your parents were during high school? Kinlee: They weren’t strict, they knew that I wouldn’t be doing stupid things. Who Was Your Favorite Teacher? Kinlee: Mr. Werner or Mr. Fox What Was Your Favorite Toy Growing Up? Kinlee: Barbie or baby doll What is the best advice you’ve received? 2024 Senior Class Spotlight: MYLES ARTHERTON Myles is the son of John and Nancy Artherton. His activities included Band, Honor Band, and Flight Club. INTERVIEW: What year did you begin school at CVS? Myles: second grade What are your next steps? Myles: I plan on graduating high school and working to get some money. I plan to go to college. Who is someone special that you would like to give a shoutout to? Myles: Only one --- how about Mr. Harber and Mr. Shockley What is your favorite school memory? Myles: I think on our senior trip when Mr. Fox was trying to race Mr. Shockley. What are you most excited for next? Myles: Probably just getting out of High School and enrolling in Cowley College or WSU What are your views on success? Myles: Don’t be dumb Do you have any advice for those entering high school? Myles: Don’t procrastinate, just get it done, it will make life so much easier. How strict would you say that your parents were during high school? Myles: EXTREMELY! Who Was Your Favorite Teacher? Her activities included Band, Cheer, NHS, Volleyball, Track, Lion’s Honor Student, Honor Band, Class Officer and STUCO, INTERVIEW: What year did you begin school at CVS? Daesie: I was in preschool. What are your next steps? Daesie: I am attending WSU and majoring in Social Work. Who is someone special that you would like to give a shoutout to? Daesie: My sister Chandra for giving me snacks and sodas when my parents wouldn’t let me. What is your favorite school memory? Daesie: Umm, the skit we did for the basketball homecoming our Junior year. What are you most excited for next? Daesie: I am looking forward to meeting new people at college. What are your views on success? Daesie: Success is when you follow your path and do what you want and love. Do you have any advice for those entering high school? Daesie: Make sure that you put yourself first before other people. How strict would you say that your parents were during high school? Daesie: Umm, like 80% strict Who Was Your Favorite Teacher? Her activities have included Cheer, Volleyball, Track, NHS, STUCO, Class Officer, Math Team, Band, Honors Band and Lion’s Club Honor Student. INTERVIEW: What year did you begin school at CVS? Shyann: I was in the 8th grade. Do you have any college credits or certifications earned during HS? Shyann: I took Intro into Criminal Justice, CCCC What are your next steps? Shyann: I am going to KState to double major in Psychology and Criminology Who is someone special that you would like to give a shoutout to? Shyann: My Dad! What is your favorite school memory? Shyann: I think when Mr. Werner electrocuted our class. What are you most excited for next? Shyann: I am excited about meeting new people and starting a new future. What are your views on success? Shyann: When you are happy with your own path and you don’t let other people’s judgment blind you. Do you have any advice for those entering high school? Shyann: Life is short, don’t get caught up in all the drama and grades do matter in the long run How strict would you say that your parents were during high school? Shyann: My dad was pretty strict my Freshman and Sophomore year and then let up my Junior and Senior year. Who Was Your Favorite Teacher? Shyann: Mr. Werner What Was Your Favorite Toy Growing Up? Announcing the Class of 2024 Commencement Ceremony. The event will be held on Saturday, May 18, 10:00am at the Cedar Vale Schools' gymnasium. Shyann Bonnell is the 2024 Valedictorian and Daesie Dennis is the 2024 Salutatorian. Congratulations Seniors!

4th grade got to eat lunch with the teacher yesterday for our ABC countdown to the end of the year!

Regional Baseball Tournament will start Wednesday, May 8th at Dexter. The Spartans will play the 2nd game which will start approximately at 5 pm. They will be playing Udall then either Medicine Lodge or Central of Burden. These boys are fun to watch. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy the fun. Good Luck Spartans

As we have featured our CV Spartans this week headed into tomorrow's SCBL meet we owe a shout out to our Dexter team mates and a big thank you to Mrs. Ross for capturing the photos! Looking to end the season on a high note tomorrow!!!

Today some of our junior and senior students attended Galaxy Technology Career Day. Students were guided through various career opportunities within the company, on the job training, application and interview processes. They finished the tour with a pizza lunch and prize drawing. Experiences like these provide our students with career options that they can begin planning for during their high school years. Thank you Galaxy Technology for inviting us

Middle school track will need to report @ 8:15 tomorrow morning for an 8:30 a.m. departure for Udall. Sack lunch will be provided.

SCBL WJL Baseball Tournament Bracket. Dexter will host the top of the bracket of the first round, weather permitting.
